Gothic Outline Shaded is a revival of a 100 year old hand-carved face sent to us straight from England. This display face was drawn from a 15 line face that we purchased in 2011. Outlined & shaded, this design grabs the attention from any other faces in it’s proximity.

The font includes three weights: regular, fill, & distressed. The regular weight is a clean, precise redraw which captures the contours of the original wood type. The fill is designed to be used with the regular weight. The distressed weight is a rendering of the textures of the letterpress proof itself, warts & all.



Because wood type was created for headlines, fonts of wood type rarely have extensive character palettes. The characters pictured above are the historically accurate glyphs represented in this font.
